Mio 269 Guidelines to unlock Mio269+
This guide is made especially for the Mio 265+.
You can always return to default settings (see at the bottom of guide)
Before you even think of unlocking your Mio 269+ you should buy a ram card, without this it is impossible. The size is for you to decide but I recommend at least 1GB.
In this guide the path to documents is: D:/Documents
-Step 1 Preparing------------------------------------------------ The following should be prepared:

Make a folder on your computer named: D\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock
In the folder you make the following folders: Cabs, Downloaded, Renamed Unlock folder should look like this:
/unlock Mio
-Cabs
-Downloaded
-Renamed 2a
Your MioMap CD: "Mio Map v2.0 for CE"

Now you have to download: (1b and 2b will you have to use after unlock)

ActiveSync for Windows: Get it here
Save in folder: D\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Downloaded
2b. Activesync for mio plus version

Download to folder (see 1a) D\Documets\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Downloaded. Unpack the zip file and then you should have a file called “V2ActiveSyncPLUS.cab

-Step 3 Unpack and make the files ready---------------------------------------

Go to folder (se 1a) D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Downloaded. Find customioE.zip, right click and press ”unpack to /customioE” 2c
In the folder D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Downloaded\customioE , you open folder
D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Downloaded\customioE\-- ONE CLICK INSTALL – and copy (Ctrl+c) custmio.cab.
Then go to the folder D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Renamed place custmio.cab (Ctrl+v) rename it to MioMap_your language_20.cab -Step 4 Unlock Mio------------------------------------------------------------

Put your Mio DVD(see 2a) in your DVD drive, press ”My Computer”/find your drive/right click/copy the hole content to D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\
You will now have a map named D:\Dokumenter\Mio 269 plus\unlock\MioMap
It will take approximate 5-30min to copy the contents of the DVD, depending on the speed of your drive.

Now you move the file MioMap_your language_20.cab from D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Renamed to D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\MioMap\install\cabs_268 overwrite the original file.

Turn on your Mio269+ connect to computer with USB cabel

Press and start D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\MioMap\setup.exe

Chose your language, press ”Install Mio Map 2.0”

Chose witch language to install ( If you only take your own language you will save some space on the Mio)
7d (IMPORTANT!)
Press cancel as soon you see the text ”Removeing old files” on the installation screen.

Remove the USB cabel , and turn off your Mio269+ using the off/on button on the backside of Mio. Wait 30 sec. and then turn it on again (don`t connect it to your computer)

Once the MIO269+ is running again the screen to adjust time and date appears. Set time and date let the MIO269+ initialise

When it is done working(initialise) press on "Reset"(right side of MIO) with stylus pen.

When it is restarted it will ask you if you want to install Banana. Press on “Enter”(Big round button on the left side of your MIO.)

You should now see a Windows Desktop

Don’t get desperate the Navigation will properly not function before you have made the following steps
Step 5 Install AS(Active Sync)-----------------------------------------------

Install ActiveSync on your computer. Go to D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Downloaded press on (see 1b) setup.exe, follow the given instructions.

Install ActiveSync on Mio269+. Insert your ram card in a card reader. Find D:\Documents\Mio 269 plus\unlock\Downloaded and copy the file "V2ActiveSyncPLUS.cab" to your ram card.
Insert ram card in the MIO269+, turn the MIO on, using "Windows Explore" you find the folder SD Card, here you will find the .cab file you just have copied. Double click on the .cab file and follow the instructions.

Reset Mio (right side).

Start ActiveSync on your computer, USB cable in the MIO269+, turn on Mio. Reset MIO
Notice: Every time you want connections between computer and Mio you have to use the ”Reset” button (right side of your MIO) There is some tricks to avoid this. but I would not write about it in this guide.
Step 6 Make the navigation function--------------------------------------------

Use card readerInsert Mio Map DVD (se 2a) to your drive, open and find the folder ”Your Drive”:\install\cabs_268 copy the file MioMap_Your Language_20.cab (7.884 kb) to the ram card.
Insert ram card into MIO, start MIO, find MioMap_your language_20.cab in folder SD Card, double click on file and follow the instructions.
Step 7 Congratulations you have unlocked MIO269+ -------------------------
Hopefully you are ready to explore the new possibilities with your Mio 269+
There are a lot of programs witch can bee used, but here you are on your own. If you against all odds have no success with unlocking the MIO 269+, you might have to do it one more time.
You can always get the Mio 269+ back to default by making a hard reset and using your Mio Map DVD. Also remember to have enough power on the battery, because if it runs out of power (empty battery) you will have to unlock the Mio 269+ once again.
